First time at The Truman tonight for a concert. Perfect size venue, not too big, not too small, with plenty of places to get a drink, if needed. The staff were amazing, especially security. Catching all of those crowd surfers was a full-time job and they were looking out for everyone.

The best thing about this place is the AC! This place fills up with people and it gets warm but they did a good job keeping it cool. Waiting outside in line there isn’t coverage from the sun and it smells like urine. There is neat artwork outside and some security staff which was comforting. The staff seemed to do a good job making sure people were drinking water which was nice to see! They actually handed out waters at no charge, very cool. Sound was good but the staff could work on the spot lights - sometimes it was so dark it was hard to see the face of the performer’s.

Parking in The Crossroads is crazy nowadays so get in where you fit in and walk to the venue. Quick entry, merch area to the left can get congested. Smoking porch to the right. Straight ahead to the spacious event space with multiple bars and restrooms. I have seen King Buffalo, Uncle Acid, Fulci, Municipal Waste, Cannibal Corpse here. Great venue!

This was a breath of fresh air from most venue experiences. We showed up 10 min before the doors opened and were close enough in line to get a front row standing experience at the Fitz & The Tantrums Concert. The security guard was super friendly. We were able to park right behind the venue for $10 on right on the street close for free. We left the concert and then got to our cars and out of there in 5 min it was a breeze. So nice compared to leaving any other event in KC and it taking forever to get home because of the parking situation.
