My experience at The Wayward was nothing short of wonderful, and it was entirely due to my stylist, Rachel Duze. The environment within the salon and the staff themselves were warm and welcoming. Rachel was very professional, funny, and kind. I felt comfortable asking questions, expressing what I did/didn't want, and Rachel was accommodating every step of the way. Even if I said something was okay (length, color, etc.), Rachel thoroughly explained and confirmed I understood what was happening with my hair before it happened and while it was happening. I absolutely love the finished product and appreciate Rachel for breathing some life back into my hair. I included some pictures below, I had red wine blended highlights done as well as a fresh butterfly cut.<3

Have been going to Justin for years and he always nails cut and color! Today specifically I asked for very subtle brown highlights and a cooled down color and he nailed it. You’d never know I walked in with a reddish box color and showing roots based on how I looked walking out!

Lauren was fantastic! I was apprehensive about switching stylists after several years, but based on all of the great reviews and the proximity to my new apartment, I decided to give The Wayward Hairdresser a try. Context: I am incredibly particular, and since I was a makeup artist for many years, I have a level of attention to detail where I see EVERYTHING. I have a blunt bob cut, which seems easy enough, but precision is key. Lauren was highly detail-oriented, thorough, methodical, and meticulous... in other words, very much like me! (a fun coincidence, since my name is also Lauren) She was also kind and gave off a vibe where I felt heard and taken care of. She had great communication and we agreed upon every decision throughout the entire cut. The salon was clean and vibrant. I loved the music and the fact that they offer you a selection of beverages when you arrive. Most of all, I'm glad they let me bring my small dog, who is an angel and sits on my lap the entire time without making a sound. I will definitely be back!

I first found this place in 2019 and loved it for years. They listened to what I wanted for my hair and helped me in ways a salon had never helped me before. I really wanted this to be my forever salon, but prices kept going up and my cut appointments kept getting shorter in real time. I have very fine hair that needs a lot of texture work to look good, and while I felt a lot of detailed work was put in during the first few years, that dwindled over time. I was paying the elevated prices but it felt like less care and personal attention was going into my cuts.
