Customer experiences
We had our wedding here in September, very small and intimate ceremony with dinner to follow. The grounds are gorgeous and offer a variety of options in terms of ceremony, reception and photos. The staff are amazing and very accommodating, truly a team effort that brought our day together beautifully. Dinner was delicious and they were great about working with us on a menu. Special shout out to Charley who was working with us the whole way! The rooms are dated and some of the exterior needs TLC but it’s a hidden gem and that’s part of the charm.
What a lovely experience! Our only problem was that we didn't book enough time to enjoy the lovely spot on an evening when they are also open for dinner. It is a place to relax and take in the calm that is St. Mary's. Bring a book, enjoy the tables outside and have dinner if you can stay on the weekend. The host was lovely and welcoming. The room had everything we needed. Thank you for maintaining this idyllic spot - we are so glad we didn't have to stay in a chain hotel!!!
My wife and I just had yet another wonderful experience at the Westover. We stayed 2 nights in room 1 in the manor building which was beautiful, clean and so comfortable. From check in to check out the service, food and people were fantastic. Thanks to all for a lovely weekend Darren
Very Disappointing Experience – Avoid This Hotel We booked what was advertised as a king room with a balcony, 250 sq. ft., bright and spacious, as shown in the booking photos. Upon arrival, we were given a completely different room — no balcony, much smaller, and nothing like the pictures. When I raised this at the front desk, the receptionist said they “always have issues with Booking.com” and couldn’t do anything because this was the last available room. She said we could speak to the manager in the morning. The room itself was very uncomfortable. The AC was a noisy window unit that made it impossible to sleep. The next morning, we discovered there was no hot water and barely any water pressure — we couldn’t even take a shower. When I asked for help, the manager arrived and, to my shock, accused me of “bullying” the receptionist the night before — something that never happened. She eventually checked the room herself, confirmed the water issue, and called a technician, but nothing was fixed. We ended up leaving the hotel without being able to shower, with a room nothing like what we booked, and having been wrongly accused of mistreating staff. This stay was completely unacceptable — wrong room, false advertising, no basic amenities, and unprofessional management. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
The Westover Inn is a restaurant.
