It's been so hard to find a stylist that truly understands and knows how to cut curly hair, that I've been driving 6 hours each way from Atlanta to Raleigh to have my hair cut. I recently tried a stylist in Loganville that claimed to know how to cut curly hair, but it consisted of grabbing about 6 random handfuls of hair and sawing through it with her dull scissors. A true hack job! I finally had the good sense to Google "Curly hair salon near me" and Marie came up. FINALLY, someone who isn't just talk, but actually knows curly hair! She thoroughly explained step-by-step what she was doing and why, and instructed me on how to correctly care for my hair. While she uses DevaCurl products, she never once tried to sell any products to me. I hate that type of up-selling, so this was very refreshing, and will give me the time to study before making any financial commitment to a different line of products than what I've been using. I believe my several year search for a stylist that "gets curly hair" is finally over!

If you are thinking of booking an appointment with Marie at Innovative Hair Designs- do it, no hesitation! My daughter has curly hair and has never truly found someone who knows how to cut and style curly hair. She went a month ago to another salon to get highlights and a cut and called me crying b/c her curls were ruined by the type of coloring they used and they did not know how to cut curly hair. We are SO grateful that we found Marie and made an appointment. She is a miracle worker and took extra time to make sure my daughter knew how to care for her hair going forward. We will continue to use Marie and if we could give her 10 stars instead of 5 we would. Do not hesitate to make an appointment with her- she knows what she is doing!!
