After the one hour intake, I was told by a therapist (who read my intake form describing why I was seeking therapy prior to coming in-person) that " I CANNOT HELP YOU. " That stung after an hour of talking with her. The owner called to apologize but no other therapy practices were given as referrals that take my insurance. Amerigroup is already so limited in talk therapy. I am speaking up for myself. This practice should not hire inexperienced people. The therapist should have recommended someone else within the practice PRIOR to meeting me for an hour if my areas I needed help with were not her expertise. Instead I left with more hopelessness. There I sat for an hour, being vulnerable as she typed my responses. Just very sad, the people who need the help the most are treated this way. But it goes beyond that. There is a Lack of Professionalism. Take the time to read a potential client's areas of concern before meeting them. Give the potential client a referral list of other practices that take their insurance. That is caring. That is helping.
