My brother, who was British but living in Saskatoon, Canada, died unexpectedly in July 2022. My wife and I live in a remote part of the British Isles and we suddenly found ourselves having to leave home to take care of his remains and start the process of sorting out his estate. We realised straight away that we would need a good lawyer. With the help of our son, himself a barrister, Transitions Legal Solutions (then Knott den Hollander) were identified as providing the legal services we needed. Our son spoke to Connie den Hollander on the phone and was immediately struck by her pleasant, calm and professional demeanour. Upon our arrival in Saskatoon, we met Connie and we quickly formed the same impression. Any competent lawyer can provide a legal service. What you really want, however, is someone who is sensitive to your particular circumstances; identifies early on the aspects that require most attention, particularly when the clients are from a foreign jurisdiction and complete strangers to Canada; treats you with diplomacy and respect; goes the extra mile when things were impossible for us (she even made visits to the bank to clear up financial queries after we had returned home); communicates well and keeps you fully in the picture: provides a service that is value for money; and carries all this out with patience and understanding. Owing mainly to the vagaries of dealing with Canada Revenue, we finally resolved my brother's affairs last month. It has taken 3 years but we don't know what we would have done without Connie's considerable help. If you want a caring law firm that puts people first, look no further than Transitions. Thank you Connie - we'll be forever in your debt.
Needed to know some contract law and what i needed to do on my next steps on child support payments. After our meeting, I feel comfortable in attacking my situation head on. Sometimes hearing bad news on what is done is needed to prepare for the future. That was my case. Thank you.
I only had one visit. It was an initial consultation with Ms. den Hollander. I walked in the law firm hoping to get some insights with a few family law issues. I walked out the office with little - no advice, no better understanding, no hope. I felt the lawyer was unable to observe and understand the client and her answers to my questions were too generic and lack of depth and compassion. I didn't find the lawyer was right for me as a legal counselor. She was more like a law clerk for routines.
