If you haven't visited this location for a while, and you are a home gardener or landscaper, it might be worth your time to stop by. They have put a great amount of effort and time revamping part of their outdoor space, particularly near the succulent area. It also seems like they may have hired more competent employees to take care of the plants, as they seem to be of higher quality and/or better health than 2-4 years ago. Also if note is their large selection of pots and planters that encompass a variety of materials, sizes and price-points. Edit***After reading other reviews, I am adding additional information and changing rating. I too, experience harassment by security here. It is the only Anawalt location that always makes me feel like a criminal the second you walked in the door. The guy has a real attitude problem and he's just a rent a cop. It is sad that nothing has ever been done about it, and they ignore the reviews that state there's a problem and only respond to the positive reviews. Anyway...

I’m a licensed contractor and wanted to share a recent experience at Anawalt Lumber that other pros should be aware of. One of my team members went to make a purchase, and we ran into an issue with their purchasing process. I wasn’t aware there’s a big difference between having a credit card on file and being in their rewards system. Unlike other suppliers like Dunn Edwards, Home Depot, or Sherwin-Williams — where paying over the phone or having a card on file is pretty straightforward — Anawalt doesn’t allow it. That meant my guy had to wait almost two hours until I could physically show up just to make the purchase. I spoke with a service counter representative named Mary. She was polite and tried to assist, but our phone call kept disconnecting multiple times. I want to give the benefit of the doubt that it was just a technical glitch — but when combined with the rigid policies and outdated systems, it highlights a bigger issue with how their operation is set up. This isn’t about blaming the front-line staff — they were doing what they could — but the limitations of the system and lack of flexibility from management really made the process inefficient and frustrating. If you’re a contractor considering sending someone on your behalf, make sure to verify their policies first. Anawalt may have decent products, but their processes need serious improvement if they want to support working professionals effectively.
