A few years ago, I'd gone for photo laser treatments for large spots of deep sun damage. I was told I’d get great results. I didn’t. Since then, melasma has surfaced on my skin, and combined with sun damage and other skin concerns I have, it’s a challenge to treat. I went to another place in the area for a consultation, but the service felt very automated, like they were going through the motions and I was just another person being pushed through the system. I shared all this with my neighbour, and she referred me to True Balance. She’d been there and was very happy with their service, so I gave them a try. I met with Margherita and the breadth of her knowledge and creative approach she took to tackle my skin issues impressed me. She made me feel heard and took the time to get to know me a bit and reassure me, which I really appreciated. I’ve now had a few treatments with her, and each time, she meets me where I’m at. If I feel nervous and start asking questions about things we've already covered, she never makes me feel badly. She'll even take the time to explain why she is using a particular laser head, which I wouldn't think to ask, which really helps to put me at ease. If I’m feeling self-conscious, she encourages me. It makes me feel better knowing someone gets it. She doesn’t just go through the motions, either. For example, today, after applying a hydrating cream to my skin, she asked, "Does it still feel like your skin needs more hydration?" I mean, who does that? Most people just slap it on, but she is meticulous. Pretty amazing. Another staff member who has made an impression on me is Carmen at the front desk. She has such a gentle and warm approach that it’s hard not to stop for a moment and chat. One day, my hands were really dry and she offered me hand cream. So nice! I’m usually not good at remembering names of people at places like that, but I remember hers and Marguerite’s names and I think it’s because they genuinely connected with me.

Since my very first set of IPL treatments, Margherita had made me feel calm, comfortable and safe. Margherita has always confirmed that we are in this journey together. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the correct combination of services that will provide you with the best possible results. Every procedure, every touch is fully explained before moving ahead. Questions are always welcomed before, during and after the treatments. Questions especially during the procedure are always her opportunity to speak more on the benefits of a regular skin care routine. You can hear the sheer passion in her voice as she talks about good skin maintenance, products and effective treatments all in line to get the best results for you.
