Great store, staff however miss the mark regarding customer service. I stood for more than 5 minutes while both staff were chatting with another customer. Both glanced my way as I stood there waiting to ask a question about a product, but neither offered assistance, until I asked.
Edit, they reached out to me and gave me 2 free dog baths for the non sense we went through. So i am updating this review. Called talked to an employee on the phone about possibly taking my 2 dogs in for a bath for the first time. He was great, told me that since it was their first time it was free. Bonus. That's about where my good expierence ends. When we got there, we went over to the bath area washed the dogs as one would. Dried them and went to say thanks.... Then the two women at the counter proceeded to tell us that the dog washing was not free (something to do with COVID, how that makes sense i couldn't tell you lol) and that we owed them money before we could leave. I explained that earlier just that same day the employee that was on earlier had explained to us how because it was our first time it was free and what they told me over the phone. Just hours before this. I didn't even have my wallet with me as we were going in knowing we just were told it was complimentary for the first time. They scouled at the whole thing, told us that employee that was on earlier was mistaken. I said I'm sorry to hear that but that's a you guys problem as we were told something by someone paid to represent your company and i expect it to be honored. Only fair. After a bunch of humming and hawing and calling the supervisor about it the 2 women reluctantly said ok but that it was a mistake and not to expect it again. If looks could kill we would both be dead lol. I left there feeling uncomfortable, and made to feel as if we did something wrong. Again the first person i talked to was great i won't mention his name as I'm not sure what the policy was or when it changed. However the two young girls that were there in the evening were horrible and i could only hope management would correct this behaviour for future customers. We were told to bring them in! For free! Lol. Anyways. Cudos to the first person i talked to and the supervisor who told them it would be for free because of the mix up. But to the other two, your in the wrong business and customer service is not your strong point.
I have been a customer at this store for years, however very disappointed when I called today and spoke with a lady on the phone inquiring about their price matching. Explaining that Pet Smart was offering the same dog food and to buy the 2nd bag at half price. Her response was we don’t match their price. She never checked with store manager that was there today. So disappointed with this service.
Usually really great customer service! Most staff are helpful and personable. Today, one of the women working was very quick with me in favour of speaking with another staff member (who did greet me appropriately). During this visit, staff were outside the door vaping and blowing it at each other. Incredibly unprofessional and were not in accordance with provincial act stating you must be 4 meters from the entrance of a business.
