My husband and I both dealt with Trust Law, specifically with Denny and Dev, and our experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. We first hired the firm for a house sale. There was no written retainer agreement, and we were billed a single lump-sum amount with no hourly breakdown. Because of that, when we later hired them again for a business sale, we naturally assumed the billing would be handled the same way. Unfortunately, the same issue occurred — no retainer agreement, no clear explanation of fees, and no mention that this time the work would be billed hourly. Throughout the process, communication was poor and the advice we received often changed from one conversation to another. Denny was difficult to reach during important moments, and several errors were made — including forgetting to include the purchase date on the agreement. After months of minimal communication, we were surprised to receive an inflated invoice based on hourly charges that had never been discussed or agreed to. The lack of transparency, professionalism, and accountability from this firm is unacceptable. We are now proceeding with both a taxation of legal fees and a formal complaint with the Law Society of Alberta for review. If you’re considering hiring Trust Law, we strongly recommend getting everything in writing, confirming how you’ll be billed, and keeping detailed records. Clients deserve honesty, clarity, and competent service — our experience serves as a serious warning to others.

I am currently filing a taxation of legal fees against Trust Law for overcharging and poor legal service. My experience with Denny and Dev was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I first hired this firm for a house sale, for which there was no signed retainer agreement, but I was charged a flat lump-sum amount with no hourly billing shown on the invoice. Because of that, when I later hired the same firm for a business sale, I reasonably assumed it would be billed the same way. However, once again, no retainer agreement was provided, and there was no discussion or disclosure that fees would now be charged hourly. Throughout the process, communication was poor, and advice was inconsistent, often changing from one conversation to the next. Denny was difficult to reach, and several mistakes occurred — including forgetting to include the purchase date on the purchase agreement. After months of limited contact, I was surprised to receive an inflated hourly-billed invoice that had never been discussed or agreed upon. The lack of transparency, consistency, and professionalism from this firm is unacceptable. I am now filing both a taxation of fees and a formal complaint with the Law Society of Alberta for review. If you are considering hiring Trust Law, I strongly recommend you get everything in writing, confirm rates and advice upfront, and keep detailed records. Clients deserve honesty, clarity, and competent service — my experience serves as a clear warning to others

We had a great experience with Denny Mah and Trust Law. They helped our private real estate transaction go through seamlessly. Denny and Melissa were very prompt with communications and were a pleasure to deal with.
