Stopped by Uniqlo today in Metropolis. Amazing selection with a very wide range of products. Much of it feels high quality, and the prices seem fair. Of course, the real test will be how the products hold up over time, but I didn’t make a purchase today. I loved the store—beautiful, friendly, open space with good lighting and a great selection. Overall, a very good experience. The fitting rooms, however, weren’t great. They could use some work. I’d suggest a self-serve system to match the way the clothing is set up, making it easier and more consistent. Overall, a great place—five stars

The quality of the clothing in this store is excellent. It has business casual, hanging out and athletic clothing. The staff are extremely polite and very friendly. Check out is amazing as you simply put all the clothes in the weigh-in area and your total is automatically calculated. The receipt is itemized for your convenience.

I have been a loyal Uniqlo customer for years, but today’s experience at this location was extremely disappointing and humiliating. I purchased an undergarment and a medium cloth bag, and the cashier told me she would complete my payment at the counter instead of self-checkout. I paid with my card and left, assuming everything was done correctly. As I was exiting, security stopped me because the alarm went off. In front of other customers, he searched my bag and called over staff. They accused me of not paying for the $3 cloth bag, even though I showed my receipt and clearly explained that the cashier handled the purchase. Instead of checking their system calmly, they made me follow them back to the counter, where they argued in front of me about whose mistake it was. Eventually, they confirmed it was the cashier’s error — not mine. Even after admitting it was their mistake, they still made me pay for the bag and asked me to ā€œwaitā€ while they brought me a water bottle as ā€œcompensation.ā€ I refused because I don’t need a bottle — I needed basic respect. As someone who also works in customer service, I know that when the company makes a mistake, the customer is not treated like a thief over a $3 item. This entire situation was humiliating, unnecessary, and handled very poorly.

UNIQLO is a clothing store.
