University Animal Hospital

I adopted this little guy from the shelter. His name was Opie. I renamed him Chance. Should have named him Turbo. lol. We love him. It took a couple of weeks to get him completely house trained and comfortable. He now knows he has a permanent home. The people at the shelter were so helpful and caring. He was fully vaccinated and neutered for such a low price. I will be forever donating to this shelter. They truly care about the animals and want them to have the right home and for you to have the right furbaby.

I was harassed by two female employees that stopped on the side of 1800 Beaumont Dr to inform me that my dog could not be off leash inside of my apartment complex. Extremely disrespectful and rude considering I do have written permission that my registered service animal can be off leash inside of the complex. This permission comes from past events where numerous dogs from the community have been off leash and proceeded to run onto the property and have tried to attack myself and my registered service animal, But of course, they weren’t there to mention that, they’ve never once showed up to come obtain any of the numerous dogs roaming the streets. Utterly disgusted and disappointed with the City of Norman Animal Control. I do consider them telling me that they had the authority to pick my dog up if she’s not on leash within property as a threat, and I do believe that the city should better train their employees to gather more information before delivering these threats to tax paying citizens.

My family adopted our puppy here and had a great experience! I love that they let you take the dogs you are considering for adoption outside to get to know them more privately. I noticed they had a very clean environment and precautions to ensure safety of the animals and guests. It was the best experience I had at an animal shelter and we got to take home a new member of the family who we can spoil and give a great life 💕 We are absolutely in love with her! I’m glad we decided to adopt here to give this sweet baby the life she deserves.
