Upland

I visited Upland on a Saturday morning at 10:30 for brunch, having made a reservation in advance. It was much quieter than the lively atmosphere I’ve experienced during dinner here. The host and server were friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. The cozy decor and large front windows make it a perfect spot for brunch.

Celebrated my mom’s birthday here and had an amazing time. The staff settled us in right away, and even gave her a birthday card, and a complimentary sorbet, which was such a treat! <3 The food was also fantastic—highly recommend the sweet potatoes & brussel sprouts appetizer, as well as the sausage and kale pizza and the pappardelle. Had an amazing lunch and I can’t wait to bring my friends here :)

I think for me there was nothing memorable about Upland that would draw me to return but also nothing bad to be noted. Its a comfortable modern space that doesn’t feel crowded. We started with two cocktails that were tasty. We shared the beef tartare and little gem salad for appetizers. . The tartare was our best bite. The addition of the puffed rice sounds odd but added great texture and a hint of flavor. The salad was good but very light on flavor from any dressing and very heavy on cheese. We shared the skirt steak for our main. It was seasoned very well but served medium rare when ordered medium. We had the donuts as our dessert. All were tasty but our favorite was the raspberry. I was disappointed they weren’t served warm but in fairness thar was just my assumption that they would be, the menu didn’t say they would be. As I stated a solid choice but not memorable for me.
