I explained that I had an unexpected emergency today, and although I had been looking forward to my massage all week, I wasn’t able to make the appointment. I am a returning customer, and while I understand and respect the importance of other people’s time, I believe there should be some room for compassion in unforeseen circumstances—especially since I have never been late or ever had a same day cancel before. I do understand their cancellation policies, but when someone is rushing to the hospital and is then told they must still pay a penalty fee for services never received, it does change how you view the business. For example, if something unexpected happened on their end and my appointment was canceled, I doubt I would be offered any discount—nor would I expect them to pay me for nothing having fulfilled the services. I had even referred two people who were planning to book appointments, but after this experience, I will let them know that this may not be the most understanding place to go should something unexpected ever come up. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning either.
