Does your pet have heart worms? We were told this by the vet after a quick test then suggested a $1,000 to $1,500 treatment that could kill my dog. My dog is elderly and blind and deaf and after only going in for routine vaccines were met with a visual coincidentally placed in a jar on the counter of heart worms. After some research of the medications the vet prescribed we discovered we were sold pills at nearly a dollar a piece to treat bacteria infections, I thought my dog had a parasite? Then two of basically the same "preventative" treatments that after researching can cause my dog neurological damage and seizures. Then we take these poisons back after discovering on the internet I can treat my dogs for not even $15 of a over the counter SAFE anti parasitic. They then slow played me saying all staff was busy and I'd have to wait to speak with the vet after the nurse said " this is way over my pay grade" after she was the one who pushed selling this poison to us. I would not recommend this vet if you want your pet to stay alive and not pay a mortgage payment just to keep your pets vaccines up. Also thought it was odd while I was waiting to not be seen the receptionist taking several calls of people concerned with heart worms . Like this clinic prays on people's fears of these parasites for there own financial gain. Sorry pets.
I cannot say enough good things about this vet. I have multiple pets and they always take wonderful care of my babies. They are priced fair. I never feel like anyone who works there including the doctor is in a hurry or annoyed with my questions. My cat bite a tech there and they were so kind about it and what to do in the future to help calm her before coming in. Speaking of going above and beyond, my friends dog was sick. She doesn't even go to this vet. But because I do and I called and asked if they would see him one hour before closing they did. They took excellent care of us. I recommend this vet to everyone I know and I feel little stress when it comes to my babies care because of them.
We are very pleased with the care that our 17 month old dog, Millie, has received at VCA Woodland Central. Millie is highly reactive and was quite nervous going in for her annual shots. Dr. Valesquez and Jordan were superb in their efforts to calm her down and distract her while they were able to deliver her required vaccinations. We are very grateful to them for their skill, patience, and kindness. We have been very impressed with the ease of scheduling, the responsiveness of staff to generating necessary documentation for traveling, and professionalism in general. The online system allows us to easily keep track of Millie‘s medical history. Thanks to the team for your great care of Millie!
I was recommended this vet by a good friend and they did not disappoint. They were efficient, cared for my dog, and were thorough with information. What I liked most was how large the waiting room is so you don't have to be anxious about run ins with other animals, and they are able to check you out in the exam room so you don't have to mess with paying at the front desk. I had Amber as my vet and she was great. We will be back!
