Customer experiences
Last night’s dining experience at Summer Place, InterContinental Bangkok, was a mixed bag of highs and lows. Food Quality Most of the dim sum dishes were delicious and well-executed. However, one major disappointment stood out—a dim sum item that was clearly undercooked. We encountered raw dough skin that was unpleasantly sticky and quite off-putting. This type of quality control lapse is a serious concern for any dining establishment. Service Performance While the staff maintained a friendly and polite demeanor, the service execution fell short. Throughout our meal, servers were conspicuously absent, making it difficult to place additional orders or request water refills. We experienced extended periods without any staff presence in the dining area. To compound matters, there were instances of incorrect orders being delivered and items being missed entirely—service failures that significantly impacted our experience. Ambiance The restaurant’s ambiance was the highlight of the evening. The space exudes comfort and elegance, creating a pleasant atmosphere that’s conducive to relaxed dining. Overall Impression Summer Place has a strong foundation with its beautiful setting, but there’s considerable room for improvement in both service management and food quality control. I hope the restaurant addresses these operational issues to ensure their execution matches their excellent environment.
Good taste Chinese restaurant. Located on second floor of Intercontinental hotel Bangkok. I had all you can eat dim sum buffet on Saturday lunch which is really good and cost effective option for me. Portions of food are good and well cooked. Staffs are helpful with excellent service mind. Seating area are comfortable and private room are available. Credit card accepted. Enjoy!
We visited Intercontinental for Modulo language school booth to find a language course at an education fairs here. Then we were looking for a lunch meal and we found this restaurant. This is an authentic Chinese restaurant in Intercontinental Bangkok hotel. It is settled on M floor. The restaurant has many spaces. It is widely opened and well-decorated. We enjoyed our lunch here very much. Dim Sum, also there weren’t many choices to choose from, there were very delicious. I like Lava salted egg buns a lot. The dough is soft and tasty. Rice noodle with truffles are delightful. Roasted pork is flavorful. We also find fried turnip is unbeatable. Just one dish that we weren’t satisfied that much is drunken chicken dish. The meat is a bit chewy. Nonetheless, this is the restaurant we will definitely come back. The service is well-done. All staff are attentive and have service mind. Highly recommended.
The food was good although few vegetarian options like in most chinese-cantonese establishments, but the ambience was spectacular. The restaurant was also a bit empty, though the staff were very nice. Eatigo deal was misleading, so don’t bother factoring it in. Almost the same with or without it as they exclude whatever they please.
