Last year, I bought a 2010 Honda Civic Coupe from a man named Mike at this dealership. He told me the car was in great condition, had no issues with the title, and was certified. As a newcomer to Canada unfamiliar with car-buying processes and terminology, I trusted his word and paid the market price for what I believed was a clean-title vehicle. Unfortunately, over the next few months, I had to take the car in for repairs multiple times. Then, nearly ten months later, after being involved in a minor accident where the other driver was at fault, I discovered—through the insurance process—that the car actually had a rebuilt/salvage title. This was never disclosed to me at the time of purchase. When I contacted Mike, he claimed he had informed me about the rebuilt status, but I have no recollection of this being mentioned, and I certainly would not have paid a clean-title price had I known. The car turned out to be worth less than half of what I paid, and I had already spent additional money on repairs to make it roadworthy. This was a painful lesson for me as someone new to the country. I share this experience not to accuse, but to raise awareness—especially for others who, like me, might not be familiar with these details and place their trust in the wrong hands.
