Wang and Cortes Dental

Truly, one of the best dental offices I have ever experienced. In the past, I have gone to offices where the dentist or the hygienist comes in, doesn’t really say much and just robotically gets the cleaning done. But this was so different in the best way. From the very beginning I was given a thorough evaluation and given ample opportunities to talk about what was going on - so much so I was asking questions I didn’t even know I had! I really felt like they build a plan for your long term dental health rather than just coming in to get a routine cleaning. I’m so impressed with how detailed the team is and would HIGHLY recommend this office.

They aren't in network with my insurance and I didn't know to ask specifically, "are you in network with my insurance." So, when I asked if they take my insurance, they said yes. However, I noticed that I was getting charged more for things then I should have been. So, I called my insurance to figure out what was going on and realized that Wang and Cortes are not in network. Lesson learned. Be specific. The dental assistants on the adult side have always been great, though. Kind and friendly. On the children's side, I sometimes wonder if we're a bother. They give balloons and coins to the kids to get a toy out of their machine upon check out, but we've experienced a much warmer/friendlier environment at Kids Dental Krewe. It's kind of like going to the fair and having a grumpy clown make a balloon animal. The end results are fine but I'm left wondering why the clown is even a clown if he doesn't love working with kids. All in all, I'd say that the Wang and Cortes team do a good job. Their dental assistants are great. But, I'm giving fewer stars because of the mix up with insurance. Which, though asking the right questions is my job, I think the office should have been more forthcoming with that information and because we've experienced a warmer and more friendly kids dental team at a different dentist and prefer them.

This was my family’s favorite dentist office. I loved that they served both children and adults. The small room with games, legos for the kids is what my son looks forward to. Receiving a coin to collect a small toy after each appointment is a cute touch. Doctors and staff are wonderful and friendly. Sadly we moved out of state but highly recommend this office.
