Waterfront Seafood Market Restaurant Ankeny

I have been craving oysters ever since I came back from Boston. I was pleasantly surprised with how large they are at Waterfront. I also enjoyed the taste of them. Unfortunately, I think that was the best part of my experience here. There was nothing wrong with the service, our servers were actually very kind and attentive. As for the restaurant, everything was so sticky and did not feel clean, no matter how much I kept wiping the table. The other items that we ordered were just "eh." I think I would come back for their half-priced oyster deal on the weekends.

Wonderful service - servers we attentive and funny. Food was good but not great. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I didn’t like it it’s just a way to go before it’s 5 stars. The clam chowder was perfectly thick but lacked flavor (and clams). The seafood salad had very little “crab” and a couple tiny shrimp. The rest of the salad was fresh greens and veggies. One last thing, the low ceiling keeps the fryer oil smell in tact all over the restaurant.

Not what is expected. Was really looking forward to the walleye. But it was disappointing with a bland flavor. The asparagus was wilted and flavorless as well. Even the waiter appeared uninterested.
