Totally unknowledgeable about jewellery. Went in looking for a white gold chain to hold a diamond pendant and I asked specifically for something sturdy for daily wear. Sales associate led me to a slightly pricey one and said that the particular style of chain was the most sturdy and exactly what I needed and I would've been happy to pay the additional price if that was in fact the case. However, after 13 months of careful use (taking it of to sleep, shower etc) the chain is weakened and stretched in multiple places to the point of needing repair and the lady in the repair shop told me this was the worst style of chain if I was after something sturdy and more expensive to repair than buy again. Probably should've done my research but you would expect a jewellery shop assistant to know this sort of stuff.
