Customer experiences
The staff lied on my paperwork to charge me more money, even though I explained I'm disabled without income, fleeing DV and on the street. They told me "no one has no income" (which is horribly offensive) and the worker behind the desk took my intake paperwork, crossed out my answer and then wrote in the maximum amount of food stamps benefits which I don't get and they're basing my cost of treatment off of that which is so messed up for the only place in town that works with homeless people.
They only pull teeth. They don't clean teeth or offer preventive care or give fluoride treatments: no fillings no antibiotics no effort to save teeth. They extract teeth and won't let you see the tooth. The teeth are all dropped into a tamper proof container. Teeth are worth more than people are in this neck of the woods. White Bird Dental Clinic isn't the only business in Eugene that operates a for-profit enterprise using public funds to fuel their operation. They promise to yank the rest of your teeth out prior to a thorough examination of your teeth and gums. Caught a student dentist lying about the condition of a second tooth to try and convince me that the tooth needed pulling. He later had to recant this hasty diagnosis after checking with the D.D.S. in the back office. The appointment desk tells the homeless who try to make an appointment for preventive care that the clinic is all booked up and they don't have any idea when they'll be able to open up their calendar for new patients. A call to their office can bring about one of two results .. "Yes I Have Insurance," keeps the conversation going .. "No I Don't Have Insurance," brings a sudden halt to any further discussions. Receptionist quickly backs out of the conversation and ends the call abruptly. The teeth they yank out are worth a lot more and are carefully guarded .. [Oregon is a two party consent state .. All parties present need to give their consent prior to being recorded. Exceptions to this law include situations when there's a threat of bodily harm.]
I was here about a week and a half ago to get an infected tooth extracted. All was well and good until a few days later when I realized that they left a small part of my infected tooth in my mouth. I have not been able to eat properly in over a week due to pain. After they fix their mistake I will never be coming back here.
I called for help and they didn’t have room for new patients, which is fine! But the attitude I got from the old lady receptionist was really unnecessarily uncompassionate. I get you guys deal with the public and your lives probably aren’t that great at work, but please be kind to the people that need help.
White Bird Dental Clinic is a dental clinic.
