Customer experiences
This pharmacy fluctuates between good and terrible service. The communication can improve in the staff answering the calls. I always have to call several times to get a refill ordered or filled. Although I get my med every month, they are always having to order it when I call which leads to delays or having to go to another pharmacy to pick up the prescription. Still sticking with them though, but come on.
Been coming here for a number of years and haven’t had any issues until the last few times. They’ve either said didn’t get my request for refills, or that the medication I’ve been on for a long time is not a medication that’s in my profile (where did it go??). Then they tell me to go back to my dr and have him send the prescription over. Frustrating cause to book an appointment it’s 3 weeks+ or it’s 1.5+hour wait for walk-in (but not necessarily my family dr I’ll see) and the last time I seen my dr previously, I questioned about refills and was told I’d be fine and have x amount of refills available. Maybe this pharmacy is becoming too busy with their homecare & Spencer clients
If I could give zero stars I would. Every single time there is an issue. From arguing my dosage the doctor prescribed to being out of stock countless times, to forgetting to fill my order prior to arrival. I’ve given numerous chances. This time once again a product out of stock also no regular Tylenol in stock. Shelves look like they’re going out of business and with the numerous issues I wouldn’t be surprised if they did. Go some place else and save yourself the hassle.
**I wish I could leave NO stars but sadly that is not an option.** I am very disappointed and saddened with this place. I was referred here by my pharmacy (since I was told that they do compound mixtures as my usual place does not.) After finishing my last radiation treatment, I went straight to the pharmacy with my prescription from the oncologist at the cancer clinic in hopes to find some relief from the tremendous pain I was in. Being in the healthcare field for almost two decades, I am aware of this mixture and it’s benefits, so I was looking forward to the relief that this solution would give me to be able to have the chance to swallow liquids and eat without a great deal of pain. The lady who eventually came to greet me at the counter, merely looked at the prescription, and after I had said “it is a compound mixture and my current pharmacy does not do them,” she replied “we don’t do compounds on a Friday because it’s the weekend and you will have to wait till Monday.” She then mentioned I could drive to the south or west side of the city and try to see if another pharmacy could help. It was around 4:00 pm and this pharmacy was open until 8:00 pm and was not visibly busy. There were no other customers in the building while I was there. Being extremely fatigued and really just wanting to go home, I had left crying and defeated thinking I had to try to drive in rush hour traffic across the city to see if someone else could help me (and hopefully make it before they close.) My original pharmacy did suggest another place - the Medicine Shoppe in Evergreen, so I figured I would give them a call. I knew they closed within the hour, my hopes were low. To my surprise, the wonderful ladies at the Medicine Shoppe said they could and would make up my prescription and would even stay late if needed as they were tending to other clients. The staff at the Medicine Shoppe went above and beyond to help and provided me with my prescription, advice, and information that has helped dull the pain and allowed me to be able to eat again. After my experience, I will never go back to the WillowGrove Pharmacy and I will NOT be recommending this place to anyone because of the unpleasant customer service. A little compassion and empathy goes a long way when a person is at the low point going through these treatments.
