I am so thankful for the WHS and the wonderful doctors and staff there. Over the years they have helped me and my fur babies. They saved my Vespa's life! She literally needed a life saving surgery that I openly admit I could not afford anywhere else. Without them I would have lost her! She would have actually died... They have also helped me with taking in stray cats. I don't know what it is about cats and people being able to just leave them behind, homeless and uncared for, but it's heartbreaking to me and I can't turn a blind eye to it. So I've taken them in, had them checked by the WHS to see if we could find owners, and we did find one, and they didn't want their cat back😭 12 years old and looking very tired of being on the streets💔 She was around for months! I was feeding her outside and it took me weeks to be able to get close enough to pet her. She was very scared of everyone and everything! With time I was able to gain her trust and now she is mine. I changed her name to represent her, Zuri means "beautiful" because she is! More recently I took in another cat, and same thing... Posted her up all over social media and took her in trying to find owners, no luck. So just yesterday she was spayed, vaccinated, and tattooed. I call her Mpenzi, it means "lover" because she loves to love, cuddles, rubs against you, rolls over for full body rubs, and is super affectionate. She is recovering very well, and again I am truly grateful and thankful for all of the people who put their heart and soul into making the WHS what it is, helping animals and their families with so much care! From my fur babies and myself, thank you all so very much! 🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️
The staff r very kind and helpful. I wanted to surrender the kitten we found in the backyard but instead we adopted it after they offered to do all vaccinations and neutering for free. We also go there for daily checkups at no cost. Thanks to all of you for providing such services and making it easier for people to open their doors and have their forever companions...
We attended as an employer-based volunteer group. Parking was tight but that's always a good sign at a place like the Humane Society! Couple of laps and everyone found something. The reception staff are very friendly and professional. Bryce coordinated our visit, he was very professional and accommodating. Our tour guide was Caroline, she's a former teacher who volunteers and her energy is incredible and very magnetic! She gave us a fantastic tour and our people were able to interact with some of the animal residents for some cuddles! We were able to help with some wintering of their planting beds. Great volunteering opportunity, there isn't enough work for groups to do to help support this fantastic cause!
