Wolf in Winter

The daycare that my Chase was attending unfortunately closed and I was in search of something new. Chase is a very athletic dog and when I first got him I really wanted him to be a part of those hiking adventures as he needs the energy burn more than the socialization. In order to attend those groups, your dog needs really good recall. Chase's recall is sometimes there but if a squirrel or rabbit or any other kind of floof is around, then there is no distracting him from his prey drive. Thankfully my devices were listening and my algorithm produced an ad for Wolf in Winter. What attracted me the most to WiW, was the fact that they were a fenced property. Recall is required but my dog isn't going to be in any danger if he is distracted and runs and that gives my worrisome dog-dad brain peace! Chase also has anxiety and all of the staff have been great for his pickups and drop-offs and are attentive to his needs. On the administration side, everyone has been really accommodating in scheduling and offering fixed rotations where they can. I hear about new friends Chase makes on every excursion and he's always a happy boy when he gets home and sleeps well through the night. Giving paws up and thumbs up for this crew and their services!

My Aussie is relatively new to Wolf In Winter and he is LOVING it. They were so great in working with me on introducing him to the facility and the staff and because of their flexibility, he did very well in the onboarding process and is fully comfortable with the whole procedure now. They recognize that a cookie cutter approach doesn't work for every dog and will work with you to set yours up for success. My dog now knows the signals of when it's Wolf In Winter day and he lays by the door, anxiously staring out the window for their van to arrive. He has the best time there and comes back happy and tired. Their "pack leaders" are very knowledgeable about dog behaviour and they make sure to create groups of dogs that have complimentary energy levels and play styles. They really are a magnificent team of caring, dog knowledgable people and I'm so happy to have found them.

We love Wolf in Winter and Lyle is already a whole new pup after only 2 weeks of adventure walks. He’s getting along better with other dogs on our walks and his behaviour has improved immensely. Wolf days are his favourite! If your dog needs to grow up and learn manners I highly recommend the team at Wolf in Winter.
