Not gonna lie, my first time being to the other side of 1st Ave and I live right across the street from Fine Fair. Almost two months it took me to take a look at the Aldi's only 5 minutes from my apartment. It's a really nice area with Costco as well. Made me appreciate my neighborhood even more.

For years now everytime I visit with my disabled mom elevators and broken now this time even the escalators aren’t working. How and why does this issue continue to happen at East River Plaza with thousands of customers visiting daily. This problem needs to be resolved and addressed and been going on for far too long. P.S: Just close down the Burlington coat factory already. I went in there the other day, they had a stanchion up and security guard informed me I had to stand in front of the entrance and wait for 3 mins before coming in. I guess they think everyone coming in is about to steal the only 4 items in the store. They hardly have anything in that huge space that occupies this poor excuse of BCF might as well go to 125 street location which is well stocked. The pics of the broken elevators and each level had at least 1 or 2 escalators broken. Those people are walking up/down the escalators

The escalators and elevators in this facility are out of service so frequently that shopping becomes nearly impossible for those who rely on them. Management appears non-existent, as these ongoing issues are never properly addressed. When the elevators do work, they seem unreliable—doors malfunction, and the ride itself feels unsafe, making passengers question whether they might get stuck or worse. It’s unacceptable that a facility in East Harlem seems neglected, as if improvements aren’t a priority. Additionally, while Costco does its part, abandoned shopping carts pile up on the sidewalks, obstructing access to the entrance. This is an issue the facility itself should manage, ensuring staff are available to prevent carts from becoming a hazard for shoppers and pedestrians. Better maintenance, management, and accountability are urgently needed.

The new marshal is not bad but that Plaza got the worst stairs and elevator ever always not in service some stairs , they can fix that problem and do better. They got to Burlington ,the Costco planet fitness, Aldi etc . It also has parking. If they fix the elevator and staircase problem, it would be a great place for shopping. There are many food stalls near the plaza.
