I used to go to Edge several times as it’s close to McMaster, but I had a disappointing experience this time. I booked a blowout for an important photoshoot, but instead of focusing on my hair, the stylist kept criticizing the highlights I had done elsewhere and made unprofessional comments. She repeatedly pointed out what she thought were mistakes in my hair color and other comments like it doesn't match with my skin color that I never asked for. she even accused me of being disloyal for going elsewhere. The result was a weak blowout that looked like I had just air-dried my hair which you can see my photo right after I left The Edge salon. My hair lacked volume and style. I ended up fixing it myself at home as you can see in the second picture. For $55, I expected better service, especially since I previously paid $130 the other place for a full highlight, cut, and excellent blowout that you can see in the last picture. On top of the poor service, the stylist made offensive remarks, assuming my highlights were done by someone from a specific background, which was inappropriate and racist. Her judgmental attitude made me feel uncomfortable throughout the appointment. She also insisted on washing my hair despite my request not to, as I washed my hair less than 12 hours ago and it's not good for my highlights. I called back to ask if she could fix my hair, but she said she had no time and offered her assistant instead. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time before my photoshoot. Overall, they ignored my preferences, and judged my hair choices. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I had a wonderful experience here for my 1st time. Sofia was a pro at threading and she was quick and accurate. They were very welcome to me as a walk in. The pricing is definitely on the lower scale probably to accommodate the students around. They have a customer for life with me! Check them out!

I recently got my hair done and there’s no other place I would rather have had it done at! The ladies at The Edge Beauty and Spa are truly one of the best people I have ever met and, of course, the services they provide are only the very best out there! The salon is always kept clean, all the ladies are sweet, kind, knowledgeable, professional and have only the best in mind for their clients. I love that the salon is a team/family effort and that all the ladies play a role, each being the best at what they do. As for specific to my appointment, I was able to communicate very easily exactly what I wanted which was going from the darkest natural black hair to beautiful cherry red hair. This has always been a dream of mine and Miss Jila was able to execute it perfectly exactly the way I wanted it!! It was not an easy process but I am so grateful for her service and patience, and for the help and care of Miss Sophia and sweet Negar as well! ❤️ I left the salon with such a confidence boost, absolutely loving my new hair, and I still continue to get compliments from her work! 🥹 I will definitely be going back soon to experience their other services and support this amazing local business, highly recommend to everyone! 🥰

I’m usually hesitant to get my hair cut at new places, but I definitely was not disappointed! The lady with the short grey hair did my haircut and did an excellent job! I’ll be returning for sure.
