This is a tertiary level centre for management of tuberculosis as well as chest diseases. It was established in 1963 as tuberculosis Control Project, Shyamoli. After liberation it was renamed National TB Control project, Shyamoli, since then treatment of tuberculosis, related investigations were going on as outdoor services. In 2015, after construction of new four stored building, this hospital renamed as 250 Bedded TB Hospital, Shyamoli, Dhaka and from January 2017, Honorable Minister for Health Family Welfare Md. Nasim MP inaugurated this newly built 250 Bed TB Hospital with facilities of 150 Bed indoor services (free bed, paying bed, cabin), 24 hours emergency services, Operation theater with thoracic surgery Gene X-part test Blood transfusion department, Chest physiotherapy department. From March 2018 spirometry and fiber optic Bronchoscope has been started for modern management of tuberculosis and chest disease. We hope in near future this institute will give better service to the people.

Recently this hospital setup with modern technology to give proper govt. service to community. Every people of Bangladesh can take treatment from Dr. about TB & Asthma by only 10 tk ticket price. Most of the asthma patient gets free medicine according to doctor advice. All types of Diagnostic facility available here with reasonable price. As per Bangladeshi people we can take medical service from here. lot of low-income people come here to take medical service. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. normal doctor gives visit & medical advice.
