Every experience with Aaliyah Belly Dance has been a delight. I've been involved in her shows for several years and though I'm in Toronto I have happily traveled to Brockville to dance with these wonderful ladies. Karen is beyond generous, providing not just amazing experiences for audiences but making each show a delight for her performers. She's dedicated and community focused, always finding new ways dance can help support what matters to the community. Thank you for all that you do!

I am so fortunate to have Aaliyah as my belly dance teacher. Not only are her classes SO MUCH FUN, but I also learn something new in literally every single one of her classes. Whether it's a new twist on an old move, a bit of history, or musicality. And this is in addition to learning the dance moves, drilling, and learning new choreos. She knows what she's doing and will always go out of her way to help you when you're stuck. Aaliyah is not just a dance teacher though. She has a great amount of knowledge in body mechanics, posture, anatomy, and fitness which she incorporates into every class. Which is an added bonus because these things are just as important in our lives outside of dancing. Thank you, Aaliyah, for teaching me so much, inspiring me, motivating me, & making me laugh!

As a teacher and performer, I have always felt welcomed to run workshops as well as perform at Aaliyah Belly Dance's professional shows in support of Victim Services of Leeds and Grenville. Her events now have dancers coming as far as California and Hamilton to perform and support great causes. The first show after the COVID lockdowns really helped me accept my body changes without judgement.

I highly recommend Aaliah as a belly dance instructor. I have taken both online and in person classes with her. She is an excellent instructor and takes the time to explain the mechanics of movement so that students are able to make corrections in the execution of a move. She also encourages growth with a variety of music, combinations and choreography.
