Today i had visited Abakhan fabrics at around 3:10 with a friend. i have NEVER had a bad experience with them before... Until today, I had gone in and asked a young girl with a nose piercing/facial piercings with black hair for a sample. Now years ago with my college a sample usually meant a small-medium size piece of the chosen fabric, now she said "I'll give you a small corner piece" at the time i didn't think anything of it and thought maybe it would be the same size range from what I've got in the past but a different shape. This wasn't the case as it was a tiny piece of fabric which was of course okay!!! (That's the rules!) But i was very confused and thought it was humorous how tiny the samples are now! Nothing aggressive or malicious in the slightest just pure confusion and in a way delight? It was funny but confusing how it changed. When my friend asked her for a larger piece (the size he needed) she began cutting him a piece and i had said to her as conversation starter "I remember when i was in college the samples were larger!" Now i didn't say this in an angry was or anything of the sort! I said it in a joking/confused way as if i were asking a question. She then responded with "oh I'm sorry!" But in an offended way while looking at my friend. I then apologized and said "oh no! I wasn't angry or anything!" And laughed it off (we all have our bad days I work retail i understand) but she didn't know when to stop with the rude comments to me. She then said "did you buy the sample?" I said "I don't remember?" (Because it was about 4-5 years ago) she then responded with "then you must of robbed us" another lady had joined in and started laughing (not sure if she worked there) as i started to become extremely uncomfortable emotionally and physically in the environment i started sweating and I'm extremely red and embarrassed as that's not the kind of comment you say to a customer i obviously haven't stolen from the company? And the way she had said it made it seem as if she was accusing me of stealing. I then became non verbal as I'm autistic and in situations were i felt I'm being attacked verbally i go into a response were i go non verbal. After she was mid-cutting the fabric she looked at me and said "you have to buy this one this time" and the other lady started laughing, this had them pushed me over the edge as i wasn't going to stand there and let employees attack me for doing absolutely nothing wrong other than trying to start a conversation with a worker. I then walked off trying my hardest to not cry and walked to the tills until my friend came over and asked if i was okay i then responded with "no" and burst out crying in the shop. I took deep breaths but was still unable to communicate due to being autistic in an uncomfortable situation. At the tills there were two older cashiers one with red hair and the other with a fringe and dark mid-length hair both asked me if i were okay. the lady with darker hair had handed me a tissue to wipe my tears I'm extremely thankful for that kind gesture. When I had walked away my friend had told me that she said to him she was having a bad day and her shift was coming to an end which DOESN'T excuse the way she spoke to me. I work retail and have done for years and not once have i lost my temper with a customer trying to make small talk. I've never felt more uncomfortable to step foot into Abakhan before and I've always been comfortable and happy to go in but i left empty handed. She clearly cannot handle her emotions well as she took them out on a vulnerable customer like me (me not being able to respond to aggression) i was an easy target for her to let out all of her stress.
