Advanced Insurance was my broker for Bear River Mutual for nearly 20 years. In fairness, their service during that time was never terrible, but it was never particularly strong either — just enough to keep me as a client. Unfortunately, when an actual issue came up, the lack of communication and advocacy made it clear they weren’t representing my best interests. When Bear River claimed an “aerial inspection” flagged my roof and moved to non-renew my policy, I asked for documentation and never received a response. Instead of helping me navigate the situation, Advanced Insurance left me to handle it on my own. On top of that, canceling my policies was far more difficult than it should have been. I couldn’t get anyone on the phone to explain why I wasn’t receiving the emails they claimed to have sent, and I ultimately had to drive to their office just to make sure cancellation was completed before the weekend. Once in their office, Ethan was polite and professional, but the process should never have required me to show up in person. After switching providers, I also discovered I had been overpaying for years for relatively low coverage. My new insurer not only provided better protection at a lower cost but also took the time to explain my policies in a way Advanced Insurance never did. After two decades, I expected stronger communication, transparency, and representation from my broker.
