Customer experiences
Stunning property. Very relaxed and the staff was great. The spa was wonderful. We also did a fantastic excursion to Lake Powell. The ride there was very comfortable and our boat captain was great. We had a great day with a nice lunch packed by the resort.
I slept for 24 hours at Amangiri, and it was the most restorative experience of my life. Nestled among stunning desert landscapes, the resort feels like another world—quiet, serene, and timeless. Every detail, from the architecture blending into the canyon walls to the peaceful atmosphere, invites you to fully relax. Amangiri isn’t just a hotel, it’s a sanctuary where time stands still.
The scenery and the rooms are breathtaking, but that’s where the positives end. The service was downright unacceptable. At the pool, there was only one person handling everything, from setting up the beds to taking orders to bringing drinks. As a result, we were left waiting endlessly, feeling completely ignored. For a place charging this much, that is simply outrageous. The massage was another huge disappointment. What was supposed to be a relaxing experience turned into an aggressive, rushed, and uncomfortable session that left us feeling worse than when we arrived. It felt like the therapist wasn’t listening or caring about the experience at all. This place could truly be extraordinary, but until they fix their service and attitude, it’s nothing more than an overpriced photo op. Save yourself the frustration, the views aren’t worth the headache.
I would like to share my honest feedback regarding our experience from arrival to check-in. I sincerely hope improvements will be made. Is this truly part of the renowned Aman Group? It was difficult to believe. From the very beginning, we were surprised by the unwelcoming attitude at the entrance intercom. We had booked two of the biggest rooms available and this was our second stay, yet we were greeted coldly and without hospitality. We arrived by RV, and in advance, we had clearly communicated via email that there would be six guests and that we would have luggage. Despite this, only one vehicle was sent to pick us up — clearly not enough space for our group and our suitcases. It felt as though the staff lacked the ability to anticipate even the most basic needs. The person who came to pick us up had to confirm every small action with a superior, resulting in delays and inefficiency throughout. This created a poor first impression and caused a significant waste of time. Upon arrival, we were taken not to our rooms, but to a separate check-in area. It would have been far more efficient and comfortable for us to check in directly in our room — especially as we had booked the largest suite with ample space for everyone to relax. Instead, after going through the check-in process, we were then led to our room, only to be asked again for individual signatures to complete check-in. This process felt redundant and unnecessarily complicated. There was a clear lack of foresight and consideration for guest convenience. We also requested assistance for a transfer or possible rental to visit Horseshoe Bend, since we had come by RV. Despite there being staff and vehicles available, we were told there was no availability. This lack of flexibility and problem-solving was disappointing. On a previous stay, we had booked a more basic room and checked in at the main building, which was much more spacious and had a better atmosphere, with a beautifully designed pool area reminiscent of Horseshoe Bend. This time, however, we were taken to a narrow, less pleasant location, and were nearly assigned to dine in that space for breakfast and dinner — unless I specifically requested the main building. I strongly feel that all guests, especially those in top-tier rooms, should be guided to the best available facilities from the beginning. Choosing the best room did not lead to any noticeable improvement in service quality. Sadly, my previous experience had also left a negative impression, and this stay confirmed that service levels remain unchanged even at the highest room category. Overall, the staff across the board seemed indifferent, lacking hospitality and unable to anticipate guests’ basic needs. Efficiency was consistently poor. I truly hope to see meaningful improvements in the future. Thank you for your attention.
