My move from College Park to DC took only 2.5 hours, which was much quicker than I expected. The movers even arrived at my new place earlier than I did. We were looking to hire movers for our 4th time. We moved from out-of state and did our first local move in Alexandria. We did not have the best experience. The movers showed up about 45 minutes late, stating they had truck issues. We did an initial walkthrough, and we thought that the movers moved fairly slow. We started helping and bringing boxes to the truck. They struggled getting a couch up from our basement where the initial movers did not. This seemed to take them 15 minutes. They left some marks on the walls at the loading location. Then, at the unload, the same thing as move dragged on, and we had our first damaged piece of furniture. Somehow the side glass broke on our cabinet, and we had other scratched items. Not best moving experience.
