Customer experiences
A cozy place with a fine beer selection with a healthy choice of regional breweries and styles to choose from. A well thought out menu makes picking a main dish a difficult task. A few items (eg the brisket) are made in house and the quality of the dinner sandwiches is excellent. The friendly and attentive staff strike the right balance between providing service and suggestions without being underfoot. Would definitely go again to order the entrees I didn’t get this time.
Big menus for different Ontario made draft beers, Great portion of food and delicious , servers were friendly and attentive. We had pork ribs and Nachos, they also served homemade hot sauce with 3 different spicy levels
We stopped at Ashburnham for lunch on recommendation from the team at Bobcageyoen Brew Co. The space is cozy as can be, with lots of seating (which was needed because she was BUSY on the afternoon of NYE). They have an expansive list of local beers on tap and in cans, and a large menu of pub grub. What we ate: Roasty beet salad paired with Dockside red ale on cask, and the Turkey club Another must visit for cottage goers!
We tried this place because of Google revew photo of brisket sandwich. The menu was upgraded and also fantastic. All our food was delicious and authentic. (nacho, poutine, sandwich, and hamburger) Usual choices but they all had something only Ashburnham Ale House offers. The aroma was rich. Cheese and veggies were fresh. I was impressed with hard wood tabels and chairs whereas new restaurants are filled with cheap and light furniture. And pictures on wall get us going with the history of Peterborough. We happened to sit near the photo of Peterborough Lift Lock construction. We visited last week and will go back there this weekend from Toronto since my children asked for it. LOL We will re-visit Peterborough Lift Lock site coordinated with the lift lock cruise time to see the lift going up and down.
Ashburnham Ale House is a restaurant.
