Bay State learning center is one of the hidden gems of the Boston home schooling community. Our very intelligent, creative dyslexic son went from being a disengaged student failing out of 8th grade at Day Middle School to one who is on fire with learning within weeks of starting at Bay State last spring. He can now be found reading The Odyssey or Slaughterhouse Five in his spare time, as well as several other great books. The teachers are brilliant, dedicated, and deeply heart felt. I find our sons friends from Bay State to be kind and insightful, which I think is in large part due to being in this dynamic and supportive learning environment.

This place and these people have been the most amazing community for my teen. His self-reliance, his ability to learn and grow and his core academics have exploded in ways I know they would not have in a traditional school setting. The heart and soul of Bay State is inclusive, inquisitive and supportive . The folks that teach at Bay State are exceptional and I am so grateful they are the people who are there to help my son navigate himself from kid-hood to adulthood. I'm a K-8 teacher and a I'm a proud Bay State parent.

If your child is struggling in the structure and culture of traditional education, please look into Bay State Learning Center. BSLC supports teens with being comfortable with who they are, finding and being able to articulate their own strengths, learning how to navigate their own lives, and along the way the kids pick up the facts they need to pursue their goals. We probably use only a small fraction of what we are forced to learn in formal education after we have passed all the tests. Learning how to be empathic, thoughtful, and confident citizens of the world is a priceless gift that will allow anyone to pursue any goal. That is what BSLC offers.

BSLC is honestly the best learning center i could ever ask for, and the environment has helped me grow and mature in ways i could never mesure. all the staff has been wonderful, and are so supportive. JayJay (my mentor) is absolutely amazing, and i love them and all the staff. its an amazing environment, and i cannot recommend it enough.
