This is an amazing place! The rooms are beautiful and very luxurious. The grounds are stunning and beautifully illuminated at night. Great choice of restaurants on site. We had lunch in the Cafe (delicious) and dinner in the Carriage House which was excellent. Only disappointment was breakfast - all the hot dishes were cold and greasy at 8:30am.

Amazing stay at the Houmas house! The room was large, very clean, and comfortable with lots of little touches like water, coffee, etc. The cottages are set in a very quaint area on the grounds. The house tour was fantastic and it was great to find out a little bit about the history before walking through the gorgeous gardens. The landscaping was absolutely stunning. We had dinner in the Carriage House and breakfast at the Dixie Cafe. Both were fantastic. 10/10 would recommend & stay here again!

I was introduced to Houmas House during a plantation tour out of New Orleans conducted by "Tours by Isabelle" a couple of years ago, and was determined to return for an overnight stay to wander about the gardens at a liesurely pace when I founf out they had guest cottages for rent.||My cottage room was beyond lovely, with period antique furnishings, a most comfortable bed, and a ten foot long marble vanity in a beautifully tiled bathroom with a separate tub and shower. ||I enjoyed a beer from my cooler in a rocking chair on a shared front porch, nestled in wooded walking trails that led to the plantation area gardens, the mansion, the Carriage House dining room, the Dixie breakfast room, the Turtle Bar, and many other buildings set among expanses of lawns, sculptures, ponds and various little seating areas all over the place.

What an absolutely phenomenal place to stay. Beautiful grounds, delicious food, great service. We will be back, just amazing. Hotel rivals the Ritz’s we have stayed in and just a great price. Enjoy! And definitely plan to stay here. SO MUCH BETTER than staying in downtown New Orleans if that is your choice
