Customer experiences
Had an absolutely lovely time here. The staff was very accomodating in getting us anything extra we needed. |The rooms were clean and comfortable, the AC worked perfect. And to the pleasure of my children our names were on the TV to welcome us when we arrived. |Staff were fantastic. ||The included breakfast was very good and the staff there were on top of things and very nice. |The pool was nice to have a well, we visited several times. ||Hotel also has a laundry room which very much came in handy! ||Had a lovely stay and would definitely visit again
Pros: Very comfy beds, decent but very basic breakfast ("scrambled" eggs, french toast, sausages, cereal). Air conditioning works very well, but is loud. All staff we encountered were very friendly. Cons: Dark and a bit dingy. Bathroom sink isn't in bathroom and drains slowly. Rooms smell a bit musty. Pool was inexplicably closed when we arrived. Internet is so spotty it may as well be non-existent. Our keycards just stopped working halfway through our stay (remedied quickly and without question). Elevator inspection cert was expired. Parking lot is straight up scary at night, I wouldn't leave anything in the car overnight. Bottom line: if you need a bed and aren't picky about breakfast you could do much worse. But if amenities are important you can probably find much better for slightly more per night.
The nicest thing I can say is that the front desk clerk was very sweet and helpful! ||||Room was not ready at check-in time. Housekeeping yelled at the clerk and us for asking when our room would be ready. Loaded my spouse and wheelchair back into the car and went out to kill time, received no communication for hours. Called the hotel and were told it was ready, no one contacted us. ||||Got to the room - it smelled like bile, very dated and dingy. Fridge was not cleaned. Jacuzzi’s pipes and insulation were fully visible, the large hatch to hide them wouldn’t close all the way. Too icked out to even touch the jacuzzi during our stay. ||||Weird mismatched seat cushion on the armchair. Main lamp flickered constantly. Paint “patch job” in a strange blue tint on fixtures. Security lock latch wouldn’t stay fully engaged. ||||Breakfast options do not exist, certainly no allergy-friendly options. Internet was unusably slow. ||||Staff could be heard in the hallways the whole stay. Lots of talk about workplace challenges, also overheard a (surprisingly aggressive) training shift. ||||No response from the “text us if you need anything during your stay” phone number. No response from the customer service email until after check-out. No management available to help onsite when problems occurred.
Avoid this place. It’s unreliable, with staff that’s unhelpful, indifferent and borderline rude. The breakfast staff and morning crew were better but they didn’t make up for the rest. The room smelled and there was mold on the shower curtain. They put a crib in our room when we had called ahead and asked for a cot. By the time we got here, they were out of cots. No apology. The fridge in the room didn’t work. And they flatly refused to give us extra towels. Breakfast buffet was the bare minimum. We’ve been coming here for years on our way to PEI. We’ve previously been happy with our stays. These hotels are independently owned and banking on the brand name. There may be new management at the Moncton Best Western because it has gone downhill and it’s on its way to becoming a dump. Crazy considering their high prices. There are plenty of other hotels. We’ll go elsewhere next year.
