LIES & THEFT by BVCU/Intermediary for LOCAL WIRE - Having a very BAD experience at Bow Valley Credit Union, have been working with MS. Lori from Calgary branch - on Aug-05 i sent a wire to TD but we had the wrong account no, which was my broker's mistake. Since there was no status on the whereabouts of the funds, on Aug-08, we (BVCU) did a recall and we got the money back on Aug-19. BVCU said "they DO NOT have any control over the wire once sent". Then guess what people - my money came back with 1 thousand less - they deducted a thousand bucks (CAD$1000) without any explanation. I think BVCU STOLE my money!! And they keep lying to me. They keep saying its TD Banks fault. The money did not even hit TD. BVCU does not seem to take any responsibility nor is there any accountability for their actions. The Bank Manager at the Calgary branch also seems least bothered or concerned, she never came and spoke to me, despite visiting the branch several times on this incident - that's incompetence & bad customer service! WHAT'S HER PROBLEM! Later, we sent another wire on Aug-22, to the correct account at TD Bank, today is Aug-27, the money is STILL not there!!! BVCU & their intermediary keeps holding onto my money! This is FRAUD and incompetence on BVCU & their banking system. There should be an investigation into BVCU Calgary branch. This proves one thing - Canadian banking systems are really primitive and back-ward! They keep lying. BVCU CEO MR Brett has been going around saying what a great bank BVCU is - and yet they can't even do a simple local wire transfer, keep stealing customer's/stakeholder's money with unwarranted charges without any PROOF! Other observations at the Calgary branch - they do not take any initiative, have a casual attitude, do not have the capacity to understand customer's priority nor the seriousness of the matter at hand, DO NOT communicate nor get back, they KEEP HIDING FACTS, DO NOT take responsibility NOR are they interested in coming up with a solution, DO NOT take responsibility for their ACTIONS, they are NOT trustworthy - in spite of all these FAILURES, THEY GET to KEEP THEIR JOBS!! BAD IDEA SENDING WIRES WITH BVCU. This is disgusting & unacceptable!! - stealing customers hard earned dollars! I've never had this happen to me when i was banking with TD Bank OR any other bank OR in any other country! BVCU - I WANT MY MONEY BACK!! Stay tuned everyone - WILL UPDATE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT....

I am beyond grateful to have found a full service bank that not only excels in customer service but also gives you an actual account representative, not a call center, who answers your questions consistently. It feels like an old fashioned small town bank, where everyone knows your name and you are treated as an individual, not just a faceless person behind an account number.

Opened an account online and set up some investments - all without needing to go into a branch. Best banking experience I've had in many years.
