Buchanan County Health Center

I went to the ER here with an injury to my ribs and difficulty breathing. I was very happy with the service. I was seen quickly, the care was high quality, and all of the staff were friendly and very personable. My concerns were taken seriously and the PA (Jill) was very helpful when it came to addressing my needs. Overall, I think I was in and out in less than an hour. I would definitely go back here for any future emergencies I have. Edit: I went here again to their urgent care facility. Once again, I was very happy. The nurse and provider were courteous, as was the reception staff and I was seen quickly. It was not an emergency (just an urgent care situation), so when it took longer to get results from some tests than anticipated, they filled a prescription for me and told me I could go home and they would call with further instructions when they got the results of the tests. I would also like to add that the onsite pharmacy here (Ryan Pharmacy) is amazing. I walked down the hall from the urgent care center to the pharmacy and they had my prescription by the time I got there. No wait time at all. They also have an onsite cafeteria that actually has relatively decent food, coffee, etc. So if you do get stuck waiting? You can grab some coffee or a bite to eat. Buchanan County Health Center is an amazing resource to have in a small town!

The family doctors are not equipped to deal with with pain management issues long term. I think they they would have to answer to higher ups if they did. When discussing this with a social worker I was asked if I wanted to find another provider I said no cause over all dr. Schmitt does very well with me. Since they started cramping more new patients the doctors don't have the the time to spend with the other patients.thats sad to see.i would recommend these family doctors to people because they r good but they are so over packed with patients it makes the quality of care crapy.but then social worker for hospital told on the phone when I was voicing my concerns they actually refuse to see again.meaning I would have to find another provider. Really,now that's rude and wrong. But I would strongly recommend for long term pain management to seek care elsewhere.

Stopped at the cafeteria because i heard the food wasn’t bad, got served by Kyle, a nice young man, over heard an argument in the back, very unprofessional, didn’t seem like he deserved to be picked on, he did a very good job, doing everything by himself, definitely won’t came back as the female staff members were rude and seemed to want me out of there as fast as possible.
