If there was an option for zero star, I would have selected that. We have had a mortgage with Desjardins since 2013. From 2018, I took over the mortgage from my dad. I sold one house and purchased another house. Still, I took a mortgage with Desjardins, which I am regretting now. After purchasing the house, I did a huge renovation in the which put me heavily with debt. I am doing my best to come out of debt but still struggling as the cost of living is so high. They gave me a line of credit, which they block since I had tax arrears. Now, I asked them to use that line of credit to pay my tax arrears, but their stupid rules say they need to refinance completely. They are saying they can not unblock the line of credit until a full refinance is complete, which is completely unacceptable. I will not recommend Desjardins at all and will close all my accounts as soon as my house is sold.

A representative sent me emails with wrong information so I was charged 30$ for a plan I wouldn’t have otherwise chosen to keep. Now they say it’s not reimbursable even though the mistake was on their end.

no english speaking personnel per-se, their levels of english are very mediocre. Friendly staff, mostly willing to help with mediocre results service and long times of processing More often that not, they gave me a really really hard time in doing something that shouldnt take too long, latest example moving an rrsp from an insurance company to their own jursdiction, painfully long and bureacratic and overall efficiency is really low.

Had a mortgage here (not by choice) and all I can say is the customer service I received from them was an absolute disaster. Without going into detail, I urge you, dear reader, to stay away from this joke of a "financial institution."
