I moved in this apartment in December 2022 and immediately regretted it. The staff are horendous and trying to get anything done is a joke. They're all related, so they can do whatever they want and not get in trouble. This apartment was and is full of issues. In February I looked under the kitchen cabinet to discover black mold. The tub hasn't ever drained and standing water is common bc the foundation of this house is henrendous. The stove was nasty and beyond use from day one that I had maintenance turn off the gas and the refrigerator is held together by zipties. The bedroom window was painted over so you couldn't open it and the front room window is dry rotted as is the deck. Then you have the nuisance neighbor that I've had to deal with since I moved in. He breaks rules and get away with it bc all this company cares about is getting the rent. I wonder if I got with the new owner Adam T. who bought it from the slumlord Carl Mygrant, I might make him a offer to buy it and bulldoze it and sell the land ... yes, it's that bad. You bet your bottom dollar when I move I will have a lawyer to get my deposit back bc I could have already vacated bc Fort Wayne Property Management breached thier part of the lease. Update: It's now October and they're finally addressing the mold issue but won't fix it until I move out. I was sick for 3 weeks, and then you have Jen West lying about I never told her about it. Well, now I'm got the Huntington County Health Department on board and a HVAC Tech that says the water is coming in through a stove pipe into the wall and has been doing so for at least 2 years. The roof is rippled by that stove pipe. The furnace is outdated and hasn't been cleaned in forever as has the ductwork. This place is a safety and health issue. Code enforcement will be watching that the proper permits and work will be done before they are allowed to rent the unit once again. I do not recommend renting from Fort Wayne Property Management Group LLC. The best they'll give you is that they just took over the property and didn't know and those are the exact words that Jen West told me.
I lived in one of their properties for a little over a year. While I was there I had problems with my asthma due to black mode growing. They sent maintenance out come to find out all the maintenance did was cleaned and painted over the mold, it grew back I called and called to have the issue fixed they never responded back which the reason I moved, not to mention other things wrong with the property such as the basement leaking when it rains, not being able to use the garage due to structural issues etc. while there my house was very clean everyone that entered my place always stated how clean it was in spite of it being a older home. Upon me leaving I made sure my house was clean this folks held my deposit because they wanted to hang new lights(which should have been done before I moved in)clean interior (which I don’t what they had to clean) painting and carpet cleaning mind you there was absolutely nothing wrong with my carpet. They used me and kept my deposit to upgrade the furnishings to put the house up for sale. I’m gonna look for a lawyer this is wrong on so many levels! I’ve never not received my deposit before! Im not a nasty unclean lady!
Generally easy to work with, and front desk staff is helpful within their boundaries. The issue lies in maintenance scheduling - we've gone weeks to months without issues being fixed or worse yet, have had someone come to fix an issue only to check their phone and say they're being sent somewhere else by their boss without actually fixing anything. We were told they would come back after this urgent call, and then weeks later, they've still not even contacted us to come back out. It's not like these aren't urgent matters either - a pipe was leaking under the kitchen sink and it caused the cabinet underneath to warp and begin to rot and mold - it still has yet to be fixed multiple months and maintenance requests later. Each time the responding maintenance worker says "I just do plumbing, they'll have to get someone else out for the flooring"
First, I'd give 0 stars if I could. Do not rent from this company! They do not care about their tenants! Our furnace stopped working for the third time since Friday and they left us without heat last night. Our house got down into the 30s and all they did was bring us two mini space heaters which were a huge safety hazard with a 2 year old. They practically did nothing for us and did not even care that we went without heat on the coldest day of the year. Please do not rent from this company if you care about the safety of your family! Edited: You guys did not provide us four heaters. One of your employees brought two of his personal ones and one was sparking while the other wouldn't turn off. We were never informed that you guys tried to get someone out to fix the heat, but we were told you would not do anything until 8am. Also, you didn't call a professional to come fix the furnace until the third time it had gone out and after we froze in a thirty-some degree house. If you guys truly cared you would have provided us a warm place to stay. You guys have not been remorseful at all or made things right.
