Cannon Construction did an excellent job with our renovation project! Lesley and her crews were polite, hard working, and considerate. Communication was also fantastic! We are very happy with the finished product and would use this company again in the future should the need arise.
Lesley and her team recently renovated the bathrooms, wet bar and laundry room in our rental property. They also re-piped the entire home and installed new lighting in the kitchen. They were very responsive throughout both the planning and execution phases, worked within our tight timeline, and were very cost effective while not compromising quality. The minimal downtime between tenants and the increase in rent due to the upgrades really made a difference to our bottom line. Thank you, Cannon Construction!
We hired Cannon Construction to remodel our master bathroom. Lesley led us to believe we would have a perfect bathroom, we would have final say on everything. In our opinion, the approval process for items wasn’t exactly clear. We also found, in our opinion, that Lesley was difficult to get a hold of, and when we had issues with work being performed, we were met with excuses instead of solutions We didn’t have any issues with the demo, she was able to find the mold issue in our master bathroom and took care of it. We ran into a few conflicts during the project. The first thing we noticed were the french doors that they installed had large gaps underneath the door. The project manager gave us excuses as to why it was this way. In the end we asked if they could add more wood to the bottom of the doors and close the gap. The pocket door they installed had gaps all around it. We asked what could be done. We were told this is a basic installation. If we wanted to put extra trim or do anything special, he would have to charge us more money. Lesley’s team damaged a cupboard that we had originally installed in the bathroom by not using the supplied mounting hardware. Her team decided to use screws that were very visible and screw it directly to the wall. In the end she did offer to come fix it, but at this point we had lost her trust. There was some confusion with the contract. It states that the only things excluded are lightbulbs and batteries. However, even though it's a bathroom remodel, mirrors, toilet paper holders, and towel holders were not included in her quote. She will not give a break down for budgets or what each part of the job will cost. She gives a description of the work and total. She quoted us $41,000 for this bathroom. Other quotes were closer to $20-$25,000. As this is our forever home, we wanted to spend extra to make sure it was perfect. We were expecting to get all name brand fixtures like Delta, Mohen, or Kholer. After researching the brands used we were sold Chinese replicas from wayfair and amazon. The tub filler she purchased was $100. A delta version would cost $700-$800. The sink faucets she purchased were $60, the Delta version is closer to $300. We had chosen a freestanding tub. In the pictures that were sent, we thought it looked great. I expressed my concern during her first walkthrough that I didn't like the idea because we can’t get behind it to clean. She assured me this wouldn’t be a problem. According to Lesley, we agreed where the tub would be located, despite being in and out of the hospital from April 27th through May 3rd, delivering our baby. If we did approve where the tub was, it wasn’t explained or demonstrated how it would look. The tub is located directly next to a green board sheetrock that is water resistant, not waterproof. It is impossible to caulk all the way around the tub. In our opinion, the tub doesn’t seem to be properly secured to the floor. Her team wouldn’t make any concessions. While we didn’t really bring the issue up, as we felt defeated, the tile pattern is messed up around the freestanding tub. Despite buying more tile, we were told it had to be pieced together to make it work. In the final days, we were told they would be finishing on a Friday and Saturday. Her team managed to finish on Friday. Lesley would not allow us through Saturday to look over the work for any issues, since her team had another project starting on Saturday, and that since we had been onsite for the entire project, we had plenty of chances to look over everything. Edited at the owner's request: We did take Cannon Construction to court and a judge did rule that the work performed fell in line with codes and requirements of the agreed contract. The court records for my case and others against Cannon Construction are public information. This review is simply my opinion and pictures of the work. I hope my review will help potential clients of Cannon Construction make an informed decision.
