Cascades Coffee House

Had my first ever visit on a weekday morning. Barista was very kind, patient, and helpful with drink suggestions. I went with their 3 Sisters Irish Cream Latte, and it was delicious. The espresso was smooth and present, the Irish cream flavor was not too sweet, but just enough to give balance between the espresso and milk. The barista knew how to properly pull and tamp the espresso (manual machine), and she aerated the milk extremely well. I was also hungry, and grabbed their breakfast burrito with chorizo which was toasted to order. Plenty of cheese pulls, and not too spicy. I ended up buying one to take home for later! A really nice coffee shop on this side of Medford, a welcoming safe space to decompress! .

I just waited in the drive thru for over half an hour for a cold brew coffee. I understand that the barista was by herself, but after waiting for so long and hearing her attending to the customers inside, I decided not to further waste my time and went elsewhere. I normally really like this place, but waiting so long for I coffee I didn’t get with no communication from the barista rubbed me the wrong way. I literally had to stick my head in the drive thru window to see what was going on. Again, I have had good experiences at Cascade for the most part, hence the two stars, but I am wary about coming back after my experience today.

Coffee isn’t bad and prices were great. Wife and I walked over for an early lunch and got 2 lattes and breakfast burritos. Wasn’t busy at all on a Friday late morning, and plenty of seating to hang out and talk at, or work remotely from for a bit. Vibe is a little industrial, but that’s easily solved with some plants, a little decor, and lots of natural light which this place has. Coffee wasn’t anything special, but it wasn’t bad by any means either. I’ve had worse coffee in town for sure. The breakfast burritos were quite good and had lots of egg. I would love more potatoes in them but that’s just me! Overall definitely going back in the future, and happy to have a neighborhood coffee shop close by.
