Customer experiences
I boarded my cat over Thanksgiving. Originally I was going to pick up on Monday. I spoke to the manager and told her I was picking up on Sunday. I called prior to arriving on Sunday. She said that her son was on site. When I got there, no one was around. I went in and took my cat. The heaters were on and all was well. But the cats were alone! The heaters could have fire! I never heard from them again even though I left a very nice cat carrier there.
Catmandu is a FABULOUS cat boarding retreat. I boarded 8 of my cats there for 8 months while my house was being repaired from storm damage. Shaundele and all of the others people are caring and wonderful with all the cats. I went to visit my kitties most days and whatever time I stopped by I saw all the kitties were well cared for and happy. Each cat condo had cat’s name on it as well as instructions for care and feeding. Each cat has a turn to go out on the catio and the new condos all have their own catio!! Absolutely lovely!!! My cats LOVED watching the farm animals walk by, chickens, ducks and goats as well as birds. I watched all the care givers interact with the kitties in a very loving manner. Condos were kept clean and bedding was washed frequently. Each condo had all the kitties food right by their condo. Water was replaced several times a day. I absolutely love Catmandu, and I interacted with them for 8 months. Absolutely the BEST!!! I highly recommend this boarding facility!!!
Found out on pick up that our cat had a huge bowl of dry food. We filled out their paperwork with clear instructions to always wet his food as he had a health complication in the past making wetted food necessary. Brought him home only to have to put him down within a week due to intestinal issies from the dry food. When letting them know about what happened they offered condolinces "if" they had anything to do with it. Thats it. He had to move around the facility due to space contraints which was fine but his paperwork or things didnt seem to move with him. Pick up was a long process of looking for his carrier and toys, never found his blanket. His kennel didnt have his name or paperwork on it. Shortly before coming to pick him up she had sent a picture saying he gained weight but only really in the belly... yet after what happened to him she still wonders IF it was caused by his time there. If you have a cat with special needs at all I can Not recommend this place. His accomidation isnt even that hard. Feed 2x a day a propper serving and add a 1/4-ish cup of water over his food.
What a wonderful home away from home for our cat. It is very rare to find a place that lets your cat roam around a bit in a safe enclosed space. Highly recommended!!
Catmandu Retreat is a kennel.
