My dog and best friend (OUTLAW) passed away early in the morning. My wife and I being totally in shock called horizon at 5am and got a recording that they open at 8am. We were really suprised when we got a call back around 6am and were told they will meet me there at 7am. Once I arrived I was still really beside myself trying to hold myself together , I was greeted by the nicest person who showed more sympathy and kindness than I could ever expect. I would give it 6 stars if possible. Thank You very much. Michael Dietz
AMAZING SERVICE 5++++ STARS! What an incredible gift it was to discover Horizon Pet Crematorium! Our beloved Rhodesian Ridgeback we brought from South Africa to live and thrive in Oregon 9.5 years ago, suddenly died... We called her Zambi, it was short for Zambezi River where she was born, Zambi was 90 lbs of pure love. For us being retired empty nesters for nearly 20 years now, we called her our "baby girl". This sudden passing of Zambi has been devastating for us! Not knowing anything about Pet Cremation I felt lost... I went to google and found Horizon Pet Crematorium in Bend, Oregon about a 90 minute drive from our home. While the idea of having to bury her or chose to cremate her made me feel sick, Horizon Pet Cremation was the very best situation I could have asked for! Eric, a second generation owner to this wonderful service, answered the phone when I called to inquire what this process would be like. Eric was kind and gentle over the phone he set me at ease right away, he was authentic in his compassion while at the same time professional. Eric anticipated my needs in this situation, when I didn't know what to even ask. Literally, he ushered my husband and I through the process so gentle and kind. We didn't know what to expect or what ask for, but he could read us, he could tell what type of relationship we had with our girl. He offered to cut some of her beautiful ridgeback fur to preserve, I said "please!" with me crying and shaking Eric respectfully and carefully cut a sample of her fur, placing it into a tiny ziplock perfectly sized to hold this precious piece of our girl for memorial. He offered paw prints and I said "yes! Of course and please!" I had tried to make prints of her paws at home, but hey weren't very good. To my delight, Eric also made the most beautiful clay paw impressions and nose prints too! Our time frame was tight, we needed to get back to our other home on the Oregon Coast for appointments, Eric accommodated our schedule expeditiously. I asked for two urns and for her ashes to be divided allowing to have urns at both homes. This was also immediately and easily handled. I'm wishing I could give more than 5 stars to this Eric and Horizon Pet Cremation. They were able to take an awful event in our lives and transform it into a beautiful tribute to our baby girl Zambi. Please see the photos I have added so you can see the beautiful memorial Eric and Horizon Pet Cremation created for us.
We picked up our dog's ashes today, and we were impressed by the beautiful wooden box they placed her in. We were also surprised to receive an impression of her paw print. It meant so much to us. Thank you for handling everything so nicely and respectively.
Had the best possible experience when dealing with a lost loved one you could possibly ask for. Entire process was ver comforting
