This is truly an amazing place. The building itself is beautifully tucked along this busy street. The tasting menu was good. The highlight for me was the crab cake. Everything else tasted great and presented beautifully. I would definitely recommend this for a special occasion. Service was amazing and I could not stop eating the bread!

Chez Panisse is, without a doubt, the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. I first heard about it through Samin Nosrat’s book, “Salt Fat Acid Heat”, and despite the drive from Los Altos, it was absolutely worth it. Every course of our four-course meal flowed together perfectly, creating a dining experience so special that I found myself shedding tears—who knew food could move me like that? At home, I jokingly tell my husband that no one in our family can cook better than me, so I rarely feel truly pampered when someone else prepares a meal. Restaurants usually serve good food, but nothing that surprises me. But this meal? It was an experience. From the first bite, we fell in love with Chez Panisse. The balance of flavors, the thoughtful combinations, and the warm, homey atmosphere made it unforgettable. I especially loved the open kitchen -the heart of the place, allowing us a glimpse of the beautifully choreographed dance of the chefs, working in perfect harmony to create something extraordinary. My husband and I couldn’t even pick a favorite dish—every single bite was in perfect balance. We left feeling amazed, pampered, and already planning our second and third visits. Thank you to everyone who made this dining experience a perfect one!

Chez Panisse is a legendary, I’ve heard about it for a long time and was finally lucky enough to snag a reservation on this spooky night! The ambiance was warm and lovely, and the service was attentive and prompt. Bf even described it as a “restaurant museum,” which felt spot on given the atmosphere. However, the food didn’t quite live up to the hype. We had a fixed menu, so there wasn’t an option to choose anything. While each course was well cooked, yet nothing really stood out. The mushroom tortellini was a my fav—light, fresh, and mixed with the taste of fresh mushrooms. The main course was pork loin, although it was fine, I actually enjoyed the veggies more than the meat. Given the price, I was expecting a bit more variety or at least additional more courses, yet we ended up filling up on bread and butter toward the end. I’m still giving it 5 stars for the ambiance, the rich history, and, most importantly, for the wonderful company who made it a lovely and romantic date night—all of which made the evening absolutely worth it.
