The staff were amazing - I wish I’d caught the name of the man who checked me in (10/31, about a quarter to 5pm), but he gave us the best check-in experience I’d ever had! A lot of times I check in, the front desk associate seems annoyed I showed up. Our room was spacious and clean, the property was quiet, pool facilities were lovely, and we had a great time celebrating my fiancé’s birthday. The restaurant and convenience store in the same lot (more or less) were a huge plus, too. Great place!

It was clean! it was big! Very comfortable! made my business trip not feel so much as a business trip. I was able to step inside my room and feel right at home! Being a brown woman that drove from Chicago through Iowa, the person at the front desk made me feel welcome when I was feeling reserved being there! thank you so much!! I greatly appreciated you making me feel safe for at least a little bit.

We were in Des Moines for the National Senior Games. This was one of the hotels the organizers recommended. It was in a great location for our events, close to good restaurants and the amazing LifeTime Fitness Center. It's a clean facility, with very friendly & helpful staff, good breakfast variety, nice pool & hot tub, good outdoor spaces to sit and socialize. We really appreciated having a suite with the bathroom outside of the bedroom and a place for preparing food with the microwave, frig, counters and cabinets. We were there a week so that was very important to us. Room for improvement: the sofabed "mattress" was poor and this was a primary sleeping space for one of us. We had to put layers of blankets & comforters on the mattress to cushion against the metal frame. Climate control in the suite was awful - the thermostat was in the living room but the a/c unit was in the bedroom so if the bedroom door was shut, the thermostat couldn't read the temperature and made the unit pump out so much cold air that the bedroom was a refrigerator and the other room with the sofabed was hot. The internet was very weak. The lobby computer & printer were not working. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you do not need the sofabed for a sleeping space.

We opted for a different hotel for our trip to the Iowa State Fair this year. The reviews of this hotel were much better than our previous hotel, and were accurate. Our king suite was spacious, although the bathroom could use a little more counter space, and the tub floor was curiously higher than expected. The bed was very comfortable, but again was quite high for us shorter folks. The breakfast was quite varied, with hot and cold offerings. As we were packing up to check out, a fire alarm was accidentally set off. We had to wait outside until the local fire department arrived to check out the building and turn off the alarm. It was startling, yet reassuring that people obeyed it and that there was a fast response. The stay was worth the money, clean, welcoming, safe.
