I had a great experience at Coco Auto Service for my car brake replacement. The staff are professional, honest, and very knowledgeable. They clearly explained the issue and never tried to upsell unnecessary repairs. The work was done efficiently with fair and transparent pricing. I will definitely return for future maintenance. Highly recommended!

I’ve been to Coco Auto Service on Carling several times over the years, mostly out of convenience. Now that I’ve moved and no longer rely on them, I feel it’s important to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. Communication here is consistently poor. On multiple occasions, I was told I would receive a call when my vehicle was ready, only to hear nothing for hours. When I followed up myself, there was no apology—just laughter and comments like “I forgot.” Waiting around for hours for something as simple as a tire change because the shop didn’t bother to call is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I’ve also found the shop to be pushy about recommending additional work that I did not request or feel was necessary. One of the most upsetting incidents was when my car key was returned to me damaged. The metal portion had come loose from the plastic, suggesting it had been handled very roughly. This was never acknowledged or addressed. Between the poor communication, lack of accountability, pressure tactics, and damage to my property, I would strongly recommend avoiding this shop. There are far more professional and customer-respectful options in Ottawa.

Took about an hour for new tires on my car. Customer service was very nice, they offered me a drink. Price was good and they treated me like family.

Avoid this auto shop. The shop is owned by a couple, with the wife at reception and the husband as the main mechanic. I came here to have a flat tire changed and despite the low cost of the secondhand tire, the service was absolutely horrible from the receptionist. From the start, the receptionist was cold and unfriendly, making me feel like I was an inconvenience for showing up. I called in advance and showed up a few hours before closing time, but waited a while as they had other vehicles to work on first, which was fine. My car was last and the work was done right before closing time, but as I was driving out of the parking lot, I heard and felt a thumping noise at the back of the car every few seconds. I checked the trunk and spare tire compartment, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I went back inside to let them know, hoping they could take another look. The receptionist was chatting with a friend who had just walked in and was very friendly with them, but became cold immediately when she turned towards me after I walked back in. I explained the noise and she immediately became hostile and confrontational, telling me that the noise must have been there before and that I am trying to blame them so they do extra work for free. I was shocked at this atrocious behaviour and was disgusted at how she treated her customers. I told her that the noise wasn't there before her husband (the mechanic) changed the tire, and that I simply wanted them to take a look at it as I didn't want to continue driving with this noise. She kept being argumentative, stating that if there is an issue I would have to pay for it before finally agreeing to have her husband take another look. After he took a look, he discovered that it was an already damaged spring coil rubbing against another part after changing the tire, so after turning the spring coil away so it would no longer touch the other part, the noise went away. Despite realizing I wasn't lying, the receptionist didn't apologize and instead told me I should tip her husband as he took a look after the shop had closed. It was clear she only cared about money and not anything else. I will never come back here or recommend this place for the horrible way they treat their customers. Spend your money elsewhere at a shop with better service.
