Clean, comfortable, and pleasant, this historic hotel is situated right off Rt 40 before you cross the bridge to West Virginia. I first heard about this place when looking for a hub to visit other areas, and Hancock MD was perfect! After arriving, I learned the long history of this town and even this hotel-- it's over 100 years old! About a year ago the current owners bought it as it was falling into disarray, but they have been hard at work restoring it to its former glory. I'm so happy I ran across this place, and I'll definitely be coming back if I'm in the area.

This motel is affordable and gave us what we needed for a night of rest during our Pittsburgh > DC bike trip - comfy bed and hot shower. It was quiet and the other guests were friendly. On the map it looks close to the little downtown with restaurants, and it is, but Blue Hill that the motel is located on is a hill that we walked down and then up for dinner nearby. Thanks for having us!

Stayed here mid-July during a C&O Canal ride. Perfect place for cyclists or hikers. They cater to that community. The place has obviously changed hands recently and they are doing their best to bring it up to new standards. My room was vintage but I absolutely loved it, and it was a great rate for the prime season. Next step for them is to get the front porch and the main house fixed up for guests to use. I enjoyed a nice evening in the front yard.

We visit Berkley springs frequently and decided to give the motel a try, very friendly staff with fresh coffee every morning. Room was clean and lovely soft beds. We will return again!
