I have used this cafe numerous times however there was a large queue for the cafe, after waiting 15 mins I decided to buy a 4.50 sandwich and because I'm a Waitrose card holder I purchased a free tea. One of the staff, Nicolette said I couldn't drink free tea and eat a Waitrose sandwich in the cafe. So I had to get up and buy a pastry from the cafe. I didn't eat it as I can't eat sugar so I'll give it to my husband instead. There were plenty of families with a single cup of tea in the cafe costing less than my sandwich. The world is going mad.... Including Waitrose cafe. No signs telling me not to eat Waitrose food in Waitrose cafe!!! Very disappointing service. Will not visit again, not even for a Waitrose sandwich
Extremely poor - Tesco cafe is much better and posher!! EDIT - I would be happy to let Waitrose know the extent of their failings but this is something that is likely more of an executive direction rather than a matter to be dealt with by a partner. Perhaps contact details of the Manager would be appropriate?
This is a lovely cafe, but there is few things that let it down. I went in with my daughter, hoping for a light lunch/savoury snack. There was Ham and cheese toastie, sausages rolls, something with chicken-we don’t eat meat so I asked if they had cheese toasties-NO?! Only thing that didn’t contain meat was the toast!!!! Seriously?! The bench seat we sat at was dirty, it had crumbs of food on the table and seat-Sunday afternoon, very quiet so it should have been cleaned.
