Discovered them during Covid pandemic, it was great. Now I can go back to work at the office, so I add a second adress for delivery at the office ... Apparently doesn't work so well with them, I received an email concerning some "additional verification of your credit card information". Really annoying. **Edit: I got a response, as they say "The billing address on you order must match your credit card billing address." So if I follow their logic, my billing address matched my credit card info on my 8 last orders, but when I add a new shipping address (not a billing address) it doesn't??
Terrible customer service. No direct communication with phone or with chat. So you submit a ticket and it rarely gets answered. I've had many tickets that never got any responses. Seems like the only way to get a response is to keep creating the same ticket every single day in hopes that someone will eventually respond... also coupons don't work properly... 20% off coupon somehow only gives 5% off.... And 25 dollar off coupon only gives 15-20 dollar off... Despite old rightstuf prices which is really nice, the headache doesn't feel like it is worth it, and might be better to go to Kinokuniya....
Rightstuf is legit. No one will beat their prices on manga, light novels, and most anime. They have great sales too, as well as exclusive blu-ray sets that you can’t get anywhere else. Highly recommended for manga, light novels and art books etc.. they ship very safe, you can buy with confidence. They also have a shipping insurance option that you can add. Edit 9/19/22: The quality in packaging is starting to decline very rapidly, I wouldn’t suggest ordering more then 3-4 volumes or blu-rays at a time. The larger boxes have experienced a noticeable lack of attention to detail. 1/3 of all my most recent volumes arrived with damage. Hopefully route will replace this many volumes.
Direct customer service is not reachable. Have 5 items started processing for 3+ weeks, and was told by customer service that there were no problems and that they would ship within 3-5 days. Sounds great except that email was 8 days ago. Subsequent followups have yielded no explanation on why it is taking so long if they already started picking and packing 8+days ago. Also have 17 additional books that were preordered (released in May and June) that haven't started fulfillment processing. Extremely weird since Crunchyroll Store is the biggest player for Japanese manga and light novel, yet I've seen other retailers that are much smaller carry those 17 books. When I asked for update, I'm given the same date for each of the 17 books which makes it feel arbitrary and not grounded on when the items will actually arrive at the facility and they can start fulfilling. Only thing good is that they are better at packing with using cardboard inserts and such.
